How do I input a formula with only the material percentages?

You can do this by weight or by volume.

By weight. Open a new formula. In the column marked weight, input the weights as the percentages, ie. 25% of a material is 25 pounds, 10% of a material is 10 pounds. When your are done your total weight of your formula will equal 100 pounds. Now just resize the formula to your target weight. To do this, select all the materials, then recalculate on weight. Your formula weight will change but the percents will be the same.

By volume. Make sure the percent column is showing percent by volume, if it is not press the "Flip Percents" button. Follow the above procedure the same but instead of using the weight column use the volume column and enter your percents by volume. Then simply recalculate by volume to your target value. Percents by weight will stay the same.

My materials do not printout on my Batch Tickets?

There is a bug in version 2.31 A simple work around is to make sure that all of your materials contain descriptions, then they will print out. The problem stems from the inablility for MixPad to determine if the material is truly a material if it doesn't have a description.

Why do the material names appear truncated?

The material name is a generic name, it should be short for operating system reasons not for the program itself. Windows can lose the name if it is longer than 8 letters. This is a problem in Windows 95/98 but not in NT. Also, the name is only a reference, most MRP softwares use 99# or alternate numbers to reference materials. MixPad keeps with this concept allowing it to co-exist with corporate accounting systems. Truncation of the material name is by design because of this. Try and use the description to better represent the material.

Is there a print preview?

Print preview is a new feature for version 2.33

Can there be other columns for liters, or mls?

We have looked at liters/kg as an alternative, we will consider mls also. One thing to keep in mind though, they are all ratios. This means that as long as you are staying in the same measurement, i.e. weight OR volume, the type of measurement does not matter. For instance, if you look at the weight column, it could be pounds, it could be grams, it could be oz. It doesn't matter it is all a ratio, just as long as you do not look at the direct translation to the alternative volume. Same goes for volumes. It doesn't matter if it is gallons, liters or mls. It is all volume.

Mixpad will not scale up/down correctly.

There is a bug in versions pre 2.4. The work around is to scale up/down by a factor of about 10 first then scale the rest of the way. The problem stems from the sizing check engine. It has been fixed in version 2.42. Sorry, :(

Mixpad is slow starting, what can I do?

First make sure you have a default printer installed. The print perview engine will hang slightly until it times out waiting for a printer that does nto exist. Also if you are on a network and your default printer is a network printer change to a local one. This could also happen if you network print is offline.
